Chickens for a day!

I know, you are probably thinking...."what's with that title??" Give me a minute to explain :)

Tuesday (10/24) we dropped Autumn off at her teacher's house and then the rest of the kids and I headed to another friend's house. They live on 2.5 acres (oh, how I dream of that!) and it's covered with bush, trees, and LOTS of sand. My kids LOVE to explore on their homestead. There are trails all over it and it's like an amusement park...haha...

Our friends have added chickens to their homestead. Jessica & Patrick loved chasing them and calling for them. Our friend's daughter, Phoebe, was helping them.
Jessica found an egg in the nesting box, you'd have thought it was Christmas :) That was exciting.

Anyhow, they finally caught "Ms Muffet" the friendly hen and loved holding her.
Here is Jessica with her:

And here is Patrick with her...proud as can be too:

It was a fabulous day and we can't wait to go back again.

(I suppose you are wondering..."Did Tina hold the chicken?".....Ummm.....That answer would be NO!! Sorry but I just couldn't bring myself to do that :) )

(For those of you that know Ryan, I bet you are wondering...."How close did Ryan get to the chickens?" and "Did Ryan brave holding the chicken?".....those answers would be - he got close enough to call them which was amazing. The answer to the second question is ABSOLUTELY NOT!! <--can't you just hear Ryan saying that..hahahaha!! )
