What do you think of when you hear those two words?
I think of a peaceful home with happy children.
Ok, now I'll wake up and join the real world!
Our children have been having a real issue with these two things lately. The homeschooling mom that I am, I came up with some ideas on how to make a Unit Study out of it.
I found a lesson in Autumn's Children's Bible about obedience and we went over that. I LOVE kids Bibles. They have such great little lessons in them to help the children understand what God is trying to teach. It went very well. We also discussed the difference between listening and obeying.
I have this great "Daily Writing Prompts" book and I found a short lesson for each of the big kids to do with a younger sibling. Ryan worked with Patrick and Jessica with Autumn. They had to help them write a short story and then the little one needed to draw a picture to go with the story. It went very well although Patrick's attention span is not very long :) Autumn had one outburst and was put in her room until she could get herself under control again. She did a great story!
Ryan and Jessica each had a writing assignment on what they are good at and could teach someone. Ryan is having a bit more trouble than Jessica did.
Jessica also had to read Autumn a story from her homework pack her teacher gave her.
I am on a search for an activity they have to do all together. I'll let you know what it is when I find it and then take pictures of them doing it :)
Our house IS getting more peaceful!
