SNOW!! SNOW!! SNOW!!!

Ok...don't get too exctied for us, we certainly did not have snow here.

We were on our way home from Las Vegas yesterday when lo' and behold what did my wandering eyes spy?......

You guessed it, SNOW!! There were little patches of snow on the ground along the road!
I was determined my little ones would get to touch real snow! :)
So I called Harold on his cell (we were in seperate vans) and we turned around. After finding a good parking spot along the road, we all (except for Kayla...she just didn't understand the excitement..LOL) jumped out of the van and took the little ones to some good snow patches.

Patrick was disappointed at first because he said it was wet and like ice. Of course I had to test it and tell him that it was the perfect snow for snowmen and snowballs!! That got his spirits back up. :)

The only regret was the lack of gloves on our part. Talk about some frozen hands!!

Autumn had a blast too! She couldn't believe she was actually touching and running through snow!

Although the kids wanted to stay longer and play more, we decided to get back on the road. Not to mention that Patrick's poor hands were frozen and that we could not find his jacket so he was wearing a t-shirt with a sweater over it. Poor kid..... Needless to say he was cold! We had a fun snowball fight though and took lots of pictures. We're planning a trip to the Laguna Mountains in CA for another weekend. This time we'll make sure everyone has good, warm jackets and GLOVES!! :)

Autumn's only complaint at the end of the day was, "The snow wasn't fluffy Mom."
She's seen too many movies...LOL! I told her the snow up in the mountains would probably be fluffy and fun to play in, but not good for snowballs like this stuff was :)
