thank you mom...

I have to take a moment to thank my mom for taking me along to her CPR classes when we were younger.
She would teach these classes and when there was time she would allow my sisters and I to practice on the dummies, both adult and children. She taught us how to do CPR and how to deal with a choking victim.

This came in very handy yesterday at Church.
I had given my kids each a carmel nip candy as we went in (we were early so I could set up my sunday school class). Patrick and Autumn were playing with their friends when Patrick came running up to me crying about his carmel being stuck. He was drooling all over me and himself.
Harold was there and had no idea what to do.
I grabbed Patrick and did the Heimlick (sp?) on him. One time and the candy popped out.

Thank you mom for taking us along and teaching us!!!

No kidding! We always had a bit of fun on those nights....well except the night I knocked my head and was bleeding....

The kids need to be sitting still when they have candy in their mouths..that is what grandma always told me...Sit still and no chewing the candy you Must suck it....LOL

Glad to know you were able to get it out and nothing bad happened!

I'm glad you still remember what you were taught that long ago. You both should take a class and the bigger kids also, never know when you need this. Good Job!!!!!!!!!!!
