Never let a horse pull a nylon leadrope through your hand......
it causes very painful rope burns that blister.
ask me how I know....

o.k. so how do you know this???
because it happened to me on Saturday.
Was this during the genital cleaning? How did Jess do with that, did it creap her out? Next time I suggest you wear gloves. Mom
well, Jess was doing that and she did real good at it. It was a little gross but she survived it and has to do it weekly. She wasn't creaped out at all. She's a strange child...haha
I got the rope burns when I was trying to lead another horse out of the pasture. A very nice, passive horse. He was spooked by the mare in there and pulled back. I didn't think the rope would slide through like that. Next time I know to watch where the mare is and how to counter the weight of the horse pulling back.
Genital cleaning....o.k. that is enough for me....ick!!!!! Poor Jessica! But if she wants to be a vet she has to get used to all that strange stuff......Hmmmm Tina how bad does your hand hurt.....(snicker)
yea Bev, genital cleaning..hahaha... she had to clean out the horse's sheath (hopefully you know what that is...if not, think of an uncircumcised guy). It was funny to watch her but I could not watch too much...way too gross for my liking.
I have to tell you, Jessica does that and puts her fingers down animal's throats, plus helps take their blood and picks scabs on them, not to mention works on their wounds but she had an issue tonight with cleaning food out of the sink after she rinsed off the dishes to go in the dishwasher!!!
Strange child!
