I should know by now that whenever I head to San Diego, it's going to be an adventure :)
Monday, the boys and I headed over for Patrick's dentist appt (he was finally getting those two front teeth fixed..woohoo). After his appt I was to take the boys to the San Diego AIr & Space Museum and then head home.
We ended up adding in lunch with a friend and her husband. Of course Ryan was impatient during the whole lunch because he wanted to get to the museum.....even though we had 4 HOURS before it closed!
We headed out to Balboa Park (that's where the museums are, for those not familiar with San Diego)...it really is a simple trip on the freeway. Well........I managed to get us lost on the freeway. We ended up in downtown and could not figure out how to get to the park from there. It was just crazy and Ryan was complaining because I somehow manage to get lost each time he is with me.......I'm beginning to think it has something to do with him...haha!!
After a couple phone calls to Harold we finally manged to find our way. Sad thing was that we were on the right track when we were in downtown, I just didn't know it.
So, we did the museum tour and it ended up being much more interesting than I thought it would be. Ryan did his thing and was obsessed with wanting to try this computer flight simulator thing. He finally got a chance and it was interesting. He did well though.
We headed home after that. All was fine until we hit the mountains. I saw the big, dark clouds hovering over them and knew we were in for a "treat". Not far into the ascent we encountered pouring rain. That was fine, but farther up we encounter a snow/rain mix and saw three big accidents caused by the weather. I called Harold and asked if there was any way we could get a hotel for the night because I didn't want to continue in this weather. I wasn't as nervous about my driving as I was about everyone else.
Yep, we spent the night and we picked up a cooler of snow before we headed back to the hotel. :)
Patrick has only seen and touched snow once before in his life so this was a treat for him. He played with the snow in the bathtub at the hotel....such a nut!
Coming home today everything was melted and dried up. You never would have known that there was a storm in the mountains the evening before.

Glad you got yourself unlost! LOL tell Ryan he needs to learn how to read a map or save his money for a GPS for you....forget the PSP!!!! ha ha ha
yea this was the same snow, only more happening. there was no storm when we first crossed the mountains :)
Yea, a night in a hotel isn't a bad thing ;)
sounds like you 3 have quite the adventure when you go out of town. The kids would have loved the snow we had last week, Ryan would have been in heaven making figures. Also the snow Bev is getting would have been fun for all of them, I'm just glad we didn't get more. Glad they get to see snow once a year at least.
