We were in San Diego again this week. The kids had appointments and then we hit the beach while waiting for Harold to be done with work so we could head home. :).

The kids had a blast walking on the beach at North Island. They were looking for sand dollars and neat shells. Autumn was scooping up ocean water and putting live clams in it. She ended up with quite the variety of things.

To the right you can see her scooping water with her freezer bag. :)

Here is Patrick having an impromptu spelling lesson. He wanted to write sissy's name in the sand....did a great job!
This is a shell from a crab that Patrick found on the beach. We found two of them. and brought them home.

Autumn and Jessica couldn't believe their eyes when they saw these anemonies at the base of a bowl.

They are those furry looking things in the water in the picture.

It was amazing to me to look at these clam shells attached the post. I know when the tide comes in they are covered in water but they were not even close to being underwater while we were there. The shells were incrediable...they had white like scale shells growing on them with some sea moss or whatever you call it. I wished I had a good camara that could capture all the little details....

those are interesting the way they cling to things, good biology lesson for the older kids. They are growing so much, hard to wait till Dec. to see them. Mom
