It was the last one for the season (although Jess still shows at fair) and we took Autumn's horse, Colorin, with us so Patrick and Autumn could both go in the arena for the Leadline class.
Autumn is on Jessica's horse, Bandie, and you can see that we talked Daddy in to leading her in. :)
Patrick is on Colorin with Jessica leading. It was very cute! There were five enteries into the class and all the kids were adorable.
The judge comes by and just asks them a couple questions about them and their horses and then she asks them to back the horse. It's all just for the cute factor.

Each kid gets a little prize bag and a first place ribbon. Below you will see A & P with their ribbons :)
Jessica did her classes. She first took Colorin in for Halter class. She was excited to do it because Colorin is normally very good with backing and all. Yea
well....the wind was up and there were a lot of other horses to "talk" to. This distracted him a bit and so he didn't quite back the way he was supposed to.

Next Jessi took Bandie in. She needs to learn to have a bit more patience and work with him on his halter stuff. Especially backing. He decided to side-step instead of backing like he was supposed to.

In the picture to the left you see a great battle of wills going on. Jessica wanted him to back and Bandie wasn't having it.
The picture on the right is of her getting set up with him to start backing.
We forgot to take pictures of her riding classes and then pictures with her ribbons because I was video taping and keeping track on Autumn and Colorin and everything else. Phew!
She placed 5th in both riding classes. :( The second one was the Horsemanship class and she had to be placed at the bottom the judge said because she was holding her reins wrong (according to the judge...but the book said different). No biggie though, just learning experience :)

nice pictures, looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. As Jessi gets better with the commands and things I'm sure she will do better, at least she having the experience and finding out what is expected. Mom
