reflecting...

After having seen Marley & Me the other night, Jessica and I did a little reflecting yesterday.

We have a couple "Marley's". Coco, being one as she has been with us since Ryan was just turning a year old. She has seen us through many other pets, 3 houses, and 3 more babies. She has always been a mother hen to the kids, having to have checked out each baby that we brought home so that she would know their scent and could protect them. She has been a really good dog and is reaching the end of her years. It will be very sad when she crosses the rainbow bridge to the other side....

Our major "Marley" though is Joey! We are soooo attached to him. Every.One.Of.Us. Ryan will tell you he's not, but just watch him some days and you will see how much he cares. Joey is on his third year of life and his breed usually only has a nine year life span. That is sooo sad and we are praying for LOTS of years with him. He really is the best dog, you can't ask for a more lovable dog and boy is he protective! He is Great Dane mixed with Black Lab. When he finally is called to the other side, we will be that family on "Marley & Me"...how would you go on in life without Joey?

Jessica agreed with me. We love ALL our dogs, but we know that Joey is the top of the pile no matter what :)
