a new adventure...

Tonight I am going to start something that I have felt I should do for a long time. I am beginning to attend a Hospice Volunteer Training. It runs for 8 weeks and is 3 hours with a 6 hour class on the final day.
I am so excited!! I love to help people and spend time with them. This may come as a surprise to some people who know me, since I don't like to meet new people and make new friends. There is something about this though that pulls at my heart strings and I really feel that God has led me here. For a long time I thought I was meant to be in nursing but I never felt completly sure about that. I just knew that I was meant to be in a field that involved caring for and helping others.
I also have a spot for Hospice in my heart from watching friends who have benefited from it and from my family using certain parts of Hospice when my step-dad was dying.
I'll let you know how it goes :)
