strange things....

I'm strange, I know I am. It's nothing new, and anyone who knows me well enough will agree.
But everyone has a little bit of strangness in them....

See this book....
Not only do I agree with Autumn that Roald Dahl is an awesome author and his books are beyond fun to read....

but, what thrills me even more is that lovely, fabulous, sensory pleasing PLASTIC LIBRARY PROTECTIVE COVER on it!!

(I told you that I am strange...)

.

I really can't explain it, but I love that covering they put on the books...especially on NEW books! It looks so shiney, it's so smooth to the touch, and it crinkles when you open the book. YUM! Maybe it's the child in me and remembering when Mrs. Abramson would read us a story in the library...the sound of the book, how neat she looked holding it...I don't know. I just know that I can't resist it. (ok, go ahead and check me into the Looney Bin...)

Some of my other strange loves:

  • the smell of gas as it pumps into the vehicle. but the best is the smell from the exhaust of an older vehicle...YUM!! I could smell that scent every day atleast a dozen times.
  • the smell of new tires when you walk into Sam's Club. another one I can't explain...it just smells so wonderful when you walk past them, it makes me happy.
  • the smell in Harold's work car after I haven't been in it for a while. i get in and I don't know if it's a new car smell or what, but it's kinda like a lighter version of the new tire smell. I just drink it in...
  • the way freshly printed/copied papers used to smell back when I was in elementary and they used that purple copy ink. the papers always smelled a bit like vanilla was on them...I wasn't the only one who liked it either.

I'm pretty sure those are all the strange ones. The rest are normal. Well, I guess as normal as you consider me to be. ;-) One of my favs (besides a hint of stetson on a man) is the smell of a clean pillow case that has sat in the linen closet for a while. There is just a certain smell to it...

some of the things are strange, but I also like the smell of gas when pumping gas. But I don't like the smell of the tires at Sam's.
