Patrick's injury and story....

Let me just tell you, you will cringe and you will howl with laughter over this story!! It ends in true Patrick style ;)

First, for those who do not know our backyard I will try to paint you a mental picture. It's not the prettiest so don't go too wild on your mental side..:)
It's all dirt except for the cement patio. We have a big patio swing that sits on a dirt part with small holes dug around from the dogs. The kids enjoy the holes for playing "flood" so we don't fill them unless they are dangerous.
Anyhow, so there is a shallow pan sized hole at one side of the swing in front/under it.

Ok...so I am on the swing with my legs "indian-style" and Autumn is next to me. Patrick wants to push us. He holds onto the metal seat part and starts pushing. Well, he holds on the whole push and pushes too far back...his feet slip and he goes face down on the ground with his hands still holding the swing.

Now, I can see what is going to happen next but i'm shocked and unable to get my feet down quick enough...not to mention that I really thought he'd let go!

The swing starts back the way it came and the poor little dude does not let go! As I am getting my feet down to stop the swing it folds him backwards so his head is just above his butt. That's when I get it stopped, HE'S STILL HANGING ON!!! I grab him and he's crying bad about his back.

Thankfully he's fine. I make him wiggle his toes and legs and all is well. We sat for a while and just talked about what happened.

ME: "If that would have gone any farther you would have folded in half. Your head would have touched your feet!"

PATRICK: "Would I be rolled up?"

ME: "yep, and I would have had to take you to the hospital so they could make sure you are ok."

PATRICK: "Would they unroll me there?"

ME (trying not to laugh too loud): "Yes baby"

PATRICK: "But then they might have to use glue on me..."

ME (ok...I'm laughing now): "Why would they use glue on you?"

PATRICK (still very serious): "To stick me down so I wouldn't roll back up again."

ME (howling so hard, I couldn't help it!): "Umm...Ok. I love you buddy!!"

Tell me you are not on the floor by now howling!!! But wait, there's more to the story that will have your sides hurting you'll be laughing so hard!!

Patrick has to tell Jessica about it. Bless her, she is trying so hard not to laugh at him, but she knows how he is. :)

He tells her all about it, glue and all! She started laughing before he finished. He says; "It's NOT hilarious, it was TERRIFYING!!"

Which of course made us laugh all the harder!!

ME: "Patrick, where do you get all these big words?"

PATRICK: "From me....From GOD!"

Ok, Jessica and I are on the ground now!!!

Hope you enjoyed our comedian :) Have a good day!!

I sincerely hope you are putting these things in a book for Patrick so when he gets older or graduates he has this as a journal to read. It would be a great gift later in life. I can just imagine his face as he is talking about this. Patrick you are one of a kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!
