Girl's Day...

Jessica and I had a "Girl's Day" yesterday (3/8) and spent the day in San Diego.
We were mostly at Sea World (Jessi's choice) but made a couple other stops before coming home :)

This trip was her "payback" for taking such good care of Patrick & then Autumn while I was in Wisconsin visting Mom & Wayne, and preparing to fly back with Ryan after his month long stay.

We had fun. As you can see, we spent some time with the dolphins...Jessica's favorite!! The camar was slow or you would have seen the noses of the dolphins on the glass on either side of Jess. It was very cute.

When we first walked in the park they had some flamingos out for people to see and learn about. Too bad, you were not allowed to pet them. We learned a lot of interesting facts about them. Did you know that they can grow to be 5 feet tall??!! Yet they don't weigh very much at all. In this little grouping the oldest was 9 months and the youngest was 7 months. They are very pretty too.

Jessica decided to be a little wierd and take a little rest on top of this cement Manatee before we went in to view the real things! I didn't get very good pictures of them due to low batteries in my camara so I won't post them. We were able to see them feeding on lettuce and just being lazy. What a life they must have...haha!!


After that, it was off to the Rays. This is not the best picture so I know you can't see it real well. Sorry!
Jessica was trying to feed one. She's a bit of a chicken though and wouldn't put her hand down like you were supposed to.

They eat squid and you put one between your ring & middle finger, then you hold your hand flat under the water and the ray comes and "sucks" it from your hand.
Ok..I did do this like they said....well that ray did take it from my hand but poked me with it's teeth. Kinda wierd feeling to feed them. Think I'll stick with feeding the dolphins...haha! Below is the squid we got to feed them. :)
