Our only stop today:
Walnut Canyon National Monument

This is another cliff dwelling community. This picture is taken from the top of the trail. Below you will see a close-up of a cliff dwelling that is in this picture. I wish I could circle it on the picture for you...

This is the close-up of that same picture above. There are so many of these dwellings all over the cliffs in this canyon. It was amazing to see and imagine how many Indians lived all over here. Again, I can not believe that they didn't fall to their deaths just walking along the canyon!!

This is one of the rooms we were able to go in. See that doorway to the side of Patrick? Believe it or not, Patrick had to duck down to go through it! Makes you wonder how tall the people actually were...I mean, I know they also would have had to bend down but really...how tall were they?

This is the group inside of one of the rooms along the trail we walked. The kids loved being able to go in to them. It was also nice for the mom's because the trail was very narrow and there were not always rails to keep someone from accidentally going over the edge if they goofed off too much.

This is Jessica (in the black) with her best friend (in the grey hooded sweatshirt...Patrick is in the yellow hat) standing in one of the rooms. They thought it was funny that you pretty much needed to be midgets to stand in there :)

And this is Patrick being a nut! Hopefully the picture looks right on your computers. It looks a little strange on mine after I resized it and put it here. He looks mad, but really he's making a funny face :)
.
This hike took us down 240 steps....200 feet, which is equivalent to a 20 story building! Yea, we had to walk back up that too...talk about some sore muscles and out of breath people! Definatly need to work out a bit in this house...lol :)
