This is "Shimmer". He belongs to a friend of ours who we are leasing the girl's horses from. He is a beautiful Arabian/Thoroughbred mix. I hope to get a better picture of him....that would require taking a real camara with me to the stables and not just my phone :)
Jessica is helping the owner train this horse. He is about 3yrs old and just like a big dog...no kidding. He cracks us up! I was sitting in the pasture with his this afternoon and he was just play nibbling on me and trying to find a treat...which I had none but I had the scent on me from earlier :) He just likes to keep bugging at you so you will pay attention to him. I have no fear of this horse - he and his mom were both around me and she's a spazz!
Jessica got to ride Shimm today. Carrie walked next to her and told Jessica what to do to work with him. He even spooked and Jess did very well not freaking out. Shimm did very well too...no bucking or running. Just backed up and looked a bit surprised.
Tomorrow I am going to take some video of her working with him and Carrie. Hmm...maybe I'll do that from atop Romey :)
