atleast we can still laugh....

There have been times during this whole ordeal that we have had some really good laughs!
It's fantastic to share those times. Most of the laughs are caused by my mom's brain just turning to mush from everything that is going on....the days are running together for her. The good thing is that she laughs just as hard as us and does not take offense :) She needs to laugh!

First one: we were talking about where my step-dad will eventually be buried (whether it's years from now or soon...) and she mentioned that he would like to be laid to rest by his dad and brother in the military cemetary in ME (he is being cremated when the time comes).

Mom says, "yea, you just have to be a resident for six months."

Then it hit her that that would be a little difficult if you ashes are in an urn! We all were rolling. (it's probably one of those...you had to be there things....)

Second one....
Brianna (my niece) and my mom were making rhubarb bars for me yesterday.
After a few minutes of mixing the topping with her hands, Bri says that she thinks they need more flour in it. Mom then realizes that she put two sticks of butter in because it called for 1/2 cup and she was thinking each stick was 1/4 cup! Oh my were we laughing!!

Third one....
We were on our way home from the movies last night (yes, mom went...she needs some distraction sometimes) and we were talking about all the people who have offered to house "overflow" family while they are here and we mention the name of this one person. No one wants to have to stay with her because we think she's a little strange.
Mom says, "But she's a wonderful problem."
We burst out laughing because she meant to say, "She's a wonderful person."

It sure felt good to laugh :)
And yes, mom knows I was writing these :)
