observations...

I have been here now 24 hours.

These are some of my obeservations and thoughts:

• Patrick loves Grampa no matter what. It doesn't matter that Grampa is sick and can't do much. Patrick still loves to go check on him and talk to him any chance that he can.
• Autumn is still processing all of this...it's not the Grampa she remembers and that is hard.
• It's hard to see a man you knew as being a strong, mostly healthy person look so sick. It doesn't matter that 3 months ago when you were here, he was also sick...things change in that time.
• Wayne accepts what is happening and is real about it.
• It's still hard for the rest of us to hear and/or see.
• It's still hard to bridge the emotional gap between us, but the walls are crumbling...
• It's hard to watch your mom when she is physically and emotionally drained. Yet, she still tries to be strong for everyone and all you want to do is hug her and tell her to go be with her husband.
• When you do tell her, she still tries to be strong...mom's are incredible people.
