driving with me...

It's another day in driving "paradise" with me :)
My kids can tell you and especially my best friend, Krysten, can tell you that driving with me is always an adventure!
Krysten tells everyone; "When you ride with Tina just know that you will see the same thing three times in five minutes."

I don't know how she knows that...ha ha!!
It used to be that Ryan would jinx me and I'd take a wrong turn or something and only when we were in San Diego....well that has since changed. I've done wrong turns where we live too and it's a small town.

So fast forward to today.....
We flew in to Milwaukee last night and stayed in a hotel by the airport. My sister, Bev, left me her car to drive to my mom's house and also directions. I was a good girl and followed those directions... She said to take the 94E to the 43N. I accidentally got on the 94W and saw a sign for 43N but since I am bad with knowing my way, I got off on the nearest exit. That was mistake number one. I called Krysten and left her a voicemail that she could laugh at me because I'd gone the "wrong" way in the first 5 minutes on the road. (she did laugh...she laughed at me on the phone...after she'd laughed at me anyway.)
So being the good girl and following directions, I found the 94E on ramp and took it. I just drove and drove while talking to Krysten on the phone. She was on her way to work and I figured we could chat until she got there.
So I am driving along and all the sudden I see a sign that says, "Welcome to the Illinois TollWay" ....I said, "Uhh Krysten, the sign just said I was on the Illinois Tollway! Crap, I think I am in Illinois!!"
The nice friend that she is, she told me not to worry and just keep going. Well, I had to pay the toll and so I asked the lady in the booth if I was going the wrong way. That I needed to be at the 43N. She said, "Honey, the 43N is 45 miles the other way!" I about died... So I follow the directions she tells me to get off the tollway and then back on it to go west.
I get back to the toll booth and Oh.My.Gosh. it was the SAME lady - I about had a heart attack because I thought I got back on the wrong way!!
She reassured me that I was going the right way and to just go straight. By now my kids are asking me if I know where I am going!

On with the tale.... I keep driving and realize I am going back to where I started and even see the exit I took earlier to get off the freeway. I am nearly in tears because I had to have missed my exit AGAIN. That's when I looked up and saw the sign (again) that said 43N. I decided, heck with my sister and her directions, I am going to follow the sign.
Low & behold...we are in Green Bay.......just 2 hours later than expected!

Autumn and Patrick were sooooo ready to get out of the car. I'm not sure they even want to drive with me again!!
