I thought some of you might like an updated post about the kid's school.
.
Patrick is doing pretty well in his first grade class. No more meltdowns since the first week. :) He is starting to read and able to write things out. It's so fun and cute to watch/listen to him sounding out the phonics in the words. He is very proud of himself! He claims to hate math....definitely his mother's son there :)
He takes lunch from home every day. He has not braved school lunches yet and besides he just has to have his daily PB&J.
.
Autumn, the second grader, is above the bar in most of her work. We talked to her teacher and she is going to be tested for the gifted program. She absolutely LOVES school! Math is pretty much her favorite subject...not my child! She belongs to Harold...haha :) She loves to brave the school lunches and enjoys them. She has this whole school thing down well.
.
Jessica is doing well with her eighth grade online work. Although, today I discovered how she gets ahead so quickly. She is skipping parts of the work. I went in her room and went over some science with her and explained to her that she CAN NOT skip around. The teacher expects her to do all the work and it all builds on each other. So tomorrow she and I will be doing some things together.
She does love school though and is anxious to get started on her art course now that the lessons have finally been posted!
.
Ryan is in high school! Yikes...that is so strange to say. He is a ninth grader and is having an interesting time getting all this down. I have to spend a lot of time at the computer with him to make sure things are getting down. I am also his designated "note girl":) I thought Japanese was going to be his most challenging course, but I was mistaken. English is giving us both difficulties and I am going to have to ask for outside help from a friend. I am just not an essay person....
We were proud though to see that he scored a 100 on his first 'Computer Fundamentals' assignment. He had to do a Word document with specific instructions. He was very pleased...that and the two A's in his Algebra have pumped him up :)

Thanks for the update, I was beginning to wonder how things were going. I just spent three days in my classroom attempting to get it ready for Tuesday. I leave with mom to the lake tomorrow morning. I have been moving 4 yards of top soil that my landlord had delievered to the house. Oh man this redoing the landscaping was a much bigger job than i ever thought. I have spent three nights on it and close to 10 hours just moving dirt! Now to do the rest after I get paid....
I'm glad the kids are doing so well, I did talk with Ryan and Harold on Monday, found you were at Mom's night, thats good for you to keep connections with those women. Sounds like the kids enjoy the computer schooling and the younger two are so go in school. Glad Patrick really is excited now. Glad also that you have some personal time for yourself. Love Mom
