A couple days ago, I purchased a new bike for Patrick. His old one was getting too small and the front rim has lost it's bearings, causing him to swerve a lot. He was so sad as he really likes to be out riding.
He has a cool BMX bike now (thankfully, wal-mart sells some for cheap!) and he can't be happier. Of course since it came with training wheels, the first thing we HAD to do upon arriving home was to take those dang things off. He's an accomplished 6-year old rider you know :)
Once the training wheels were off, Patch took off on the bike and was so pleased with himself. He even took the bike to ride on some "bumps" on the canal bank. It was cute.
Today, I watched my babies (A & P) take off for school on their bikes. They were so darn cute and I should have snapped a picture and I probably would have had I not had to go rescue Autumn. Her bike lock cord got wrapped around her peddle since "someone" failed to wrap it around the bike frame properly....we won't mention names though....
Anyhow, she was off then and very concerned because Patrick had continued on and now he was too far ahead of her, because she was supposed to be staying with him and taking care of him you know.
I met them at the school to help Autumn learn how to lock up both bikes with her lock. I also told her that they could ride their bikes home and no one would be coming to pick them up. She sounded excited but a little worried at the same time.
I'll meet them at the end of the road to make sure all is well :)
