This is Ginger, the kitten we adopted after it jumped into the canal to swim to Jessica.
She is a NUT!

The not so nutty part of her was the other day when we noticed her walking around with something in her foot.

It ended up being a jig from one of the kids fishing boxes. It had went all the way through one of her foot pads and she was hooked, just like a fish.

Determined NOT to have to take a trip to the vet where I would have to pay $75 just to walk through the door and then all the other costs....I had Ryan find me some wire cutters and Jessica wrapped Gingy in a towel.
I was finally able to get the barb end cut off ~ with loud protesting from Ging ~ and we slid the rest of it out of her foot. We've been watching for infection but so far so good!

Everyone was talked to about leaving fishing stuff laying around!!

you kids need to really take better care of your fishing gear, its not safe for the cats or dogs, gets pretty expensive if they have to see the vet. Gramma
