christmas tree thoughts...

For the first time in the 15 years that we have been celebrating a family together, we put up a REAL tree. It's been a really interesting time...
Thankfully the tree only cost $30 and it was tall and beautiful and even came from Oregon, which thrilled Harold to no end. :)

Once the tree was up, the house smelled sooooo wonderful (like I remember from up north) and it looked fantastic. We watered it regularly and we thought, this is going to be a nice time.

Yeah...that was about a week and a half ago. Since then the tree has been drying out..I think more from the lack of humidity in the house than from the watering. It's had water all along with tree preservative stuff. So we're looking a little Charlie Brownish at the moment and we fully expect to be completly Charlie Brown by Christmas day. :(

Like I said, it's been an experience. Not neccessarly one we will repeat...unless we can wait to get the tree until closer to Christmas, but that's not really us :)

sorry to hear your tree isn't doing well, have you tried putting ice cubes in the water, I'm sure with the dryness its just not doing well. Hopefully it will still be somewhat green for christmas. Love Mom
