I know I have not updated in a while. And I have soooooo much to update about, but the trouble is getting some of the pictures from my phone onto the computer. It's a pain at times. I will get to it though :)
I will do a post for each of the kids to brag on them, but I have to start with Jessica.
I am just so proud of her. She is growing up far too quickly for one, but it's also nice in a way.
A friend of ours has been mentoring her in learning face painting. Jessica has wonderful artistic skills on paper and computer, but doing it on skin is a whole 'nother arena! She is doing good though.
Last week she worked with our friend and another girl to do face painting at a Mardi Gras party in the next city over. She left in the morning and got home about 1am...wow!! We were told she did excellent and she must have because she earned $8 in tips from people AND she was paid $72 by our friend!! That's $12 an HOUR for the length of time she was working!!
And she just got a call to go work another party this saturday! I'm very proud of her for this!
Here is another big accomplishment for her.... Different 4-H clubs will do a "Pre-Fair Show" with their kids to get them ready for showing at fair. This is really good, Jessica learned from it last year when she had to go. Well, a group about 20 minutes from us needs a Judge next saturday for their pre-show. They called Jessica to go and judge for them!!
She will need to brush up on some of her stuff so that she can judge all the different breeds and varities of rabbits that will be there but we have confidence that she will do well :-)
The last thing I'll mention here is.....Spay Day was yesterday at the Vet's office that she volunteer's at. ALL day long they spay and neuter the cats and dogs who were lucky enough to get on the list. Jessica worked the entire day! She did all different jobs but the one I giggle at is that she had to wake up all the animals after their surgeries...this included pitbulls, labs, little kitties, etc... Once they were awake and did the required 2 swallows, Jessica would pull out the ET tubes. She says it's not a big deal but heck, I don't think I could do it. I don't think I could do half the stuff she did yesterday or does on a weekly basis there. I'm very proud of her and very thankful for the Vet that allows her to volunteer there and encourages her to pursue her dream!
Love ya, Jessi :-)

I'm sure Jessica will be a great vet assistance when she is old enough to work full time and get paid, she has a way with animals and that is great. I'm proud of her accomplishments. Now she needs to keep her school work up and take all the right classes to help her for her future.
Love Mom
